P•P•O•W Appoints Trey Hollis as Managing Partner

Wendy Olsoff and Penny Pilkington, co-founders of P•P•O•W, are pleased to announce the appointment of Trey Hollis as Managing Partner, based in New York.
As Managing Partner, Hollis will continue to oversee P•P•O•W’s programmatic activities, gallery operations, exhibition management, facilities, and the gallery's participation in international art fairs. Collaborating closely with the gallery directors, operations team, and ownership, he will help ensure the continued strength and efficiency of all aspects of the gallery while supporting P•P•O•W’s represented artists and exhibition program.

Having joined the gallery in 2016, Hollis has become an indispensable member of P•P•O•W’s leadership, most recently serving as Senior Director. During his tenure, he has led the gallery’s participation in international art fairs, including Art Basel in Basel, Hong Kong, Paris, and Miami Beach, and managed major exhibitions and special projects, including Carlos Motta’s Jjagɨyɨ: Air of Life (2023), Adam Putnam’s Holes (2023), and David Wojnarowicz’s Dear Jean Pierre (2022). He has worked closely with gallery artists including Ann Agee, Elijah Burgher, Ishi Glinsky, Katharine Kuharic, Joe Houston, Hew Locke, Carlos Motta, Portia Munson, Adam Putnam, and Annabeth Rosen, as well as the estates of Dinh Q. Lê and Hunter Reynolds. Furthermore, Hollis has played a central role in managing and strengthening the gallery’s operations across departments.
“Trey brings such warmth, humor, and imagination to everything he does,” says gallery artist Ann Agee. “I always love putting our heads together. He had watched the work for my 2021 exhibition develop over several years, and while we were considering the installation, he proposed placing it all on one enormous plinth. It took me a moment to see it—and then we were both like children, jumping up and down and squealing with delight. That kind of exchange, grounded in a deep understanding of the work but always open to surprise, is what makes collaborating with Trey so special.”
Earlier this month, P•P•O•W announced its first London pop-up at No. 9 Cork Street, opening October 8 with a solo exhibition of new paintings by Brooklyn-based artist Robin F. Williams. The gallery has also recently announced the representation of Daniel Correa Mejía and Phoebe Helander, who join a multigenerational program that includes artists whose relationships with P•P•O•W extend to its earliest years, including Dotty Attie, Martin Wong, and David Wojnarowicz. Together, these developments reflect the gallery’s continued evolution as it approaches its fifth decade—expanding its international presence and welcoming new voices while sustaining the enduring artist relationships and values that have shaped its program since its founding.
