London – Bonhams is proud to present the Hospital Rooms Anniversary Auction, a two-part fundraising sale celebrating the charity's tenth anniversary and its pioneering work bringing world-class contemporary art into mental health settings across the UK. A live auction will take place 16 September 2026, New Bond Street, London. Meanwhile, the online auction runs from 7–17 September 2026
The sale will feature works generously donated by leading contemporary artists including Hurvin Anderson, Veronica Ryan, Mary Stephenson, Do Ho Suh, and many others, in support of Hospital Rooms' mission to improve mental health environments through artist-led commissions and creative programmes.
Established in 2016, Hospital Rooms was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to inspiring environments that support dignity, recovery, and hope. Over the past decade, the charity has transformed mental health settings across the UK through ambitious collaborations with renowned artists, creating meaningful spaces for patients, staff, and visitors.
The anniversary auction comes at a critical moment, as NHS mental health wards are still frequently described by patients and staff as bleak and institutional environments, often lacking meaningful visual stimulation and opportunities for creative engagement. Through its work, Hospital Rooms seeks to challenge this reality, demonstrating the vital role art can play in wellbeing and recovery.
Proceeds from the auction will support Hospital Rooms' Future Fund, helping to expand access to artist-led projects and creative programmes in mental health settings across the UK and enabling the charity to continue developing transformative partnerships with artists and NHS trusts.
The fundraising sale coincides with a major anniversary exhibition at Victoria Miro, opening this September. The exhibition will present large-scale recreations of significant artworks originally commissioned for NHS mental health settings, many of which are ordinarily inaccessible to the public. The exhibition will culminate in the fundraising auction at Bonhams, bringing together artists, collectors, supporters, and advocates to celebrate ten years of Hospital Rooms' impact.

About Hospital Rooms
Hospital Rooms is an arts and mental health charity working with artists and NHS mental health services across the UK. Since 2016, Hospital Rooms has commissioned more than 200 artworks with over 360 artists across NHS mental health inpatient settings.
